HOW TO BE IN THE MOMENT – 101 Little Tips

TIP #37
Talk back to Nature.

Just as we listen to Nature, Nature listens to us.
She hears that little gasp when we behold something beyond words;
a cry of celebration at the conquest of mountain or white water;
our provoking the call of a gullible bird; even an unspoken word of thanks for the privilege of the conversation.

There's something here about the interdependence of humans and our environment. One time after a yoga class I was walking to the subway, and I felt the sky 'calling to me' to stop and watch. I did, and surely enough after about half a minute a gorgeous shooting star blazed across the sky in the exact zone where I was gazing.

Yes when we connect with nature, with anything or anybody, they feel what we feel, and we are altered forever more to come.

Craig -- That's a great example of what so many of us are practicing - being more open to that dialog with wonder. You'll never forget it. Here's to many more such conversations!

Hi Bernie -- Thanks for the comment! How do you experience that connection?

It's like allowing a wash of feelings and sensations to flow over me. Its like a conduit or channel is opened between that which I focus upon and my self. If I am at full attention with a plant for instance, then a door is opened for the plant to be at full attention for me. So if i love a plant, the plant loves me. Therefore, by letting the energy of the plant in, I am loving a greater aspect of my self. My definition of self changes. From this exchange of information or energy, I may then be inspired to use words in a way I have never imagined before. With this influx of newness, how I view world is then changed, because it now includes some of the plants essence. Therefore, by accepting fully the object of our attention, then the course of our lives also changes or shifts. For instance if you are talking with someone, and you can really hear what they are saying..... if you can get their perspective, then it can't help but shift your perspective. One then expands in consciousness to be more accepting and inclusive.

Bernie -- Wow - what a fine description of oneness with Nature! From your photos, one can see at a glance how it speaks to you.

When I get a photo from a unique angle or perspective, i tend to get a rush of energy surge through me. I then feel super alive with a rush of connectivity. Since its my intention to share these views, its as if certain moments with plants, insects, birds, animals, and collective nature scenes almost volunteer themselves to meet up with my intention to spread their energy through the medium of cyber space. Its like they get my attention to spread the scene then to others to personally take in, in the unique ways that each of us do.
