TAKEN ABACK BY SUMAC – A Passion of Color

Rising once more to primal needs,

An ardent cycle of color and life begins.

Velvet sumac stems blush with spring's pulsing anticipation.

Color upwells, swells, engorges deep crimson summer's fruit,

Then explodes in avid seeds, strewn in fall

Through leafy cries of red and orange.

Beautiful. One of my favorite things to do outside is notice the variety of textures. This photo and your words captures sumac just right!

Thanks, Emily! Yes, texture's a world of wonder unto itself. Between texture, form, line and color, sumac's got all the elements of art covered pretty well, right?
Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
